About the Artist

Arvi Delos Reyes’ illustration is emblematic of Arvi’s interest in rural scenery and his signature artistic style. Arvi is a multidisciplinary artist from the Philippines specialising in illustration, painting, and visual storytelling. His creative focus delves into the intricacies of rural life, cultural heritage, and peasant struggle. Having spent most of his life in the countryside and the paddy fields of the Philippines, he always finds himself unearthing sociopolitical stories mundanely hidden within rural landscapes. He is fascinated with concepts connected to soil, roots, and land.

The analogous colours he uses evoke warmth, nostalgia, familiarity, and introspection. He views his concepts as core memories, weaving new meanings and connecting them to broader contexts.

Arvi has published three children’s books with local publishers. His goal is to illustrate stories that resonate with children in rural communities.

Arvi graduated magna cum laude with a Fine Arts degree from the University of the Philippines Baguio and is a member of Ang Ilustrador ng Kabataan and UP Artists’ Circle Fraternity. His works may be found on Instagram at @arnviaaan.
